KUALA LUMPUR, Tuesday, 13 June 2023: Staying true to its Kuala Lumpur roots, Radium Development Berhad organised its third community outreach initiative for 2023 — a Blood Donation Campaign dubbed Be a Hero, Save a Life, in in conjunction with World Blood Donation Day 2023. It was held in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara Malaysia, on Tuesday, 13 June 2023 at The Ark by Platinum Victory, Kuala Lumpur.

In line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), this event was also to foster greater engagement among the employees of Radium with the Group’s sister companies and business associates who participated.

There are many health benefits to donating blood. Among these are lowering blood pressure and reducing risk of heart attacks and cancer, as well as boosting feelings of positivity.

Radium Development Berhad Group Managing Director Datuk Gary Gan said, “Our community service efforts are the basis of our commitment to society. As part of our ‘Building Good’ legacy, we are stepping up in our community outreach efforts to cement our commitment and passion to helping those in our surrounding community. We also hope to continue serving the community under our ‘Good Heart’ initiatives, a nod to our goal of giving back to and keeping close connections with the community.”

As a token of appreciation to Radium team members and business associates who supported the event, RM20 McDonald’s food vouchers were given to successful donors. The blood donation campaign saw a total of 89 donors, 20 of whom were first-time blood donors, donating a total of 66 bags of blood.
